Tiles with merman
A merman holding a mirror and an oar painted on two conjoining tiles, part of a frieze with sea creatures; blue, green, orange and purple; red clay; 13,2 x 13,1 x 1,3 cm & 13,0 x 12,8 x 1,3 cm; 1630-1650
The tiles fit perfectly together, but originate from two different sets with the same painting. On the back of the first tile a capital ‘M’ is painted, on the second one a capital ‘I’.
